About the Role
The Accountant/Bookkeeper must be a highly organized and self-motivated individual that supervises the accounting for the nonprofit USVI Soccer Association, making sure that all donations and expenditures are properly recorded and tracked. The Accountant/Bookkeeper develops and maintains strategies, controls, and systems to keep the nonprofit in good fiscal health, as well as making sure each employee involved in accounting performs to those standards. The Accountant/Bookkeeper also manages regular audits of the entity’s accounts per statutory and FIFA internal regulations and collaborates with outside auditors to ensure internal controls are in compliance with legal and ethical business practices Responsible for all required financial public reporting and reporting to the Executive Board of Directors on a regular basis.
Keeps financial records and establish, maintains and balance multiple accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems. Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements. Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and procedures. Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, and other government documents. Prepare tax returns and other statistical, financial, and accounting reports on daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual schedules. Manage payroll systems and processing as well as federal payroll and labor compliance. Manage human resource forms, manuals and contracts. And manage fixed asset tracking through asset management software.

Responsibilities
Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
Maintain the chart of accounts
Maintain the annual budget and report significant variances from the budget
Supervise and participate in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
Collaborate with CPA to prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements
Complete internal and external audits and financial compliance activities
Supervise and participate in Payroll processes and Employee Benefit Programs
Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and direct their work activities
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements as well as accounting and ethical best practices
Maintain and update company’s financial policies and procedures
Create and complete financial reporting systems (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual)
Maintain Quickbooks financial software
Maintain fixed asset tracking via accounting software and asset management software including inventory tracking
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
